Editorial Policy

MyInsureCar publishes independent guides that help drivers in the United States understand car insurance and pay less for it. We explain how coverage works, what it costs, and how to compare it, so readers can make their own decisions with confidence.

We do not sell insurance. We are not an insurance agent, broker, or carrier, and we do not provide quotes or sell policies. Nothing on this site is an offer of insurance.

How we research

Every guide starts with primary sources where they exist. We check state insurance department pages for minimum coverage rules and state programs, and we consult consumer guides from the Insurance Information Institute (III), the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Where a rule or price varies by state, we say so and point readers to the regulator for their own state.

We do not present averages as promises. When a price depends on the driver, the car, and the state, we explain the factors that move it and advise readers to compare quotes on identical coverage. When we give a figure, such as a state minimum limit or a typical cost range, it comes from a source we can name, and we link to that source in the article.

How we review and update

Articles are reviewed before publication and revisited when rules, limits, or market conditions change. Each article shows a publication date and a last updated date. When a state raises its minimum limits, a program changes, or a figure goes out of date, we update the affected guides rather than leaving stale figures live.

Articles carry a byline naming the author. Our writers cover United States car insurance as their subject, and each guide is checked against the sources above before it is published.

Independence

No insurer pays us for placement, and we accept no sponsored recommendations. The guides, comparisons, and discount advice on this site are editorial decisions made by our writers. We link to regulator and consumer-education sources because they help readers, not because anyone paid for the link. If that ever changes, we will disclose it on the affected page.

We do not take paid placements for insurers, products, or services. A company cannot pay to be recommended, ranked higher, or reviewed more favourably on this site.

Corrections

We aim to be accurate, and we know insurance rules change. If you spot an error, an outdated figure, or a broken link, email us at myinsurecar@gmail.com with the page address and the detail that needs fixing. We will check it against the source, correct it promptly, and reply to let you know what changed.

What we do not do

We do not give personal financial or legal advice, and nothing on this site replaces advice from a licensed insurance professional in your state. Coverage rules, minimum limits, and prices vary by state and by insurer, so confirm the details in your own policy before you act. For the full position, read our Disclaimer.
